This little pile of rope was very soft and worn. I enjoyed sitting a while.
It was actually at the bottom of a long, stretched out, piece of rope.
I was sitting at the bottom of a temple that was once part of the ancient Mayan city of Coba. Above me, there were 120 steps.
At the Top
I could not even climb one step. So Beth carried me in her camera bag and climbed to the top. This is the metal ring that holds the rope.
Enjoying the View
I sat on the ring and Beth sat on the top step. We watched the people climbing up. Going down was scarier and that's when people held the rope. We didn't tell them that the rope looked a little raveled, up at the top.
My mom gave me this tiny bear over 25 years ago... because I like small things.
