Little Bear's Adventures
I Love the Colors of Mardi Gras! Who doesn't love a little purple, green and gold? Beth didn't let me out of the camera bag, when we went to the parades. Those flying beads are dangerous! But I had fun with them later. Baby Rescue After playing in the beads, I met a friend. I spotted the little baby in the King Cake! I had to help my friend climb out of the sugary treat and then we played.
I love celebrations!

Welcome 2020! Today is the start of a new year! I'm ready for some new adventures! I'm also ready to enjoy my new musician friends. 2019? I guess I'm supposed to reflect on the past year, as I move into this new one. But, that would take so long... Let me just say, the year was good and December was nice. I had a good Christmas. We spent it in New Orleans and Beth decorated the hotel room with a tiny Cajun Nativity Set. She read Cajun Night Before Christmas. "Petit Ours" I got to join in. I didn't have a French name-tag like the others, but Beth called me Petit Ours. I think that's French for Little Bear. I felt rather LARGE for a change. 2019 ended nicely. Now I'm ready for 2020!
Happy New Year! Where Am I? Well, I'm back in Texas now, but I was in New Orleans. I went for Thanksgiving, not Mardi Gras. In this picture I'm far away from the French Quarter. I'm not posing with beads or parade confetti. I'm sitting on top of a cypress knee! Audubon Park It's hard to see me, but I'm in this photo. I love cypress trees and I love these wonderful knees, that grow up around them! I had the perfect spot for watching the ducks in the water and the people strolling by in the park. What a great place to be in the afternoon on Thanksgiving!
First stop, Louisiana! It's hard to decide what to do when you only have 1 day in Louisiana. Visiting the French Quarter would have been first on my list. But I did that a year and a half ago. That was when Beth was still posing me in cute scenes like this... with the St. Louis Cathedral. On the Railing At least there weren't too many people around! It was dusk after a drizzly day, or it would have been more crowded in the French Quarter. At least Beth is pretty quick when she poses me. I didn't sit long on this curved piece of railing. What else do you do in Louisiana? Eat, of course! But there was no time on this road trip for crawfish boils! This was actually a year ago in Lafayette. Those spices sting right through my fur anyway. So what did I chose for adventure? I thought about a visit to one of the old cemeteries, but lots of people do that. Instead I took a peek at the old 6 Flags which hasn't reopened since Hurricane Katrina. It was about 10 times creepier wandering around those old carnival rides than gravestones. Off to the Ferris Wheel Up Close Once I go up close, things didn't look so good. But I found a place to sit. There was some ugly graffiti and and the Ferris wheel wasn't moving. But, it was still fun. Braver than Beth I didn't exactly see Beth climbing into one of these things. I'd say I was pretty brave to climb on board, not far from the spray painted word, "Destiny". This adventure rates pretty high on my list!
