Little Bear's Adventures
Not The Fun Kind of Adventure I told Beth I didn't like this new adventure, but she packed me in her bag anyway. We went to the hospital on Thursday and she said she was excited to get started... and get rid of this cancer thing. Her Mascot She also packed this cute little carved donkey. "Why can't I be your mascot?" I wondered. Beth said her friends told her to be stubborn and kick this breast cancer. I guess I'm too laid back to be a mascot. What About Me? That donkey got a lot of attention. I don't get it. Why is Beth acting like this is some kind of a pet party? Why does everyone think that donkey is so cute? He looks sort of miserable. A Friend? Then I got to be in a photo. Beth pulled me out to join the Donkey for a very strange posing picture, before her surgery. This was kind of yucky, but it made Beth laugh. Beth's husband and daughter laughed, too.
I guess I can share Beth with this new Donkey friend of hers. Besides, she says this might be a long journey. I might need some help cheering Beth up. It might be nice to have a new friend.

View From My Flower I'm in a field of wild flowers, looking across University Boulevard in Sugar Land. Sugar Land Memorial Park The Brazos River crested the other day and there has been record flooding in Fort Bend County. The Veteran's Memorial in this Park is not usually surrounded by water. Playground Beth's nephews love this park. They would have to use a canoe to reach it today. Sad It's sad to see the park flooded. But it's sadder to think about all the homes that have been flooded recently. At least the wildflowers are thriving.
