I love it when the Bottle Brush blooms!
Beth hates the red stuff when it falls all over the patio and makes the pool look furry.
But I sit on a branch sort of like a pilot and watch the wildlife nearby.
It's really exciting when a bee comes to visit.
I don't like sitting on flowers when bees are around. I can't hide so much there.
I really like these yellow trumpety things the best! You can really find some good spots in those twisty vines.
I like resting back on the vines like a hammock. It's the perfect combination of warm and cool!
But I like it best...
.... when a butterfly comes to call!
It's windy today and I'm remembering...
This is me last year...ballooning!
It wasn't that scary looking down. I was tied to a chair.
I was a little startled when the green balloon popped. Then Beth made a quick dash when the wind started to loosen the ribbon tied to the chair! It was very exciting.
Today I asked Beth...
"Can't we go kiting today?"
Because that would be very fun.
I'd like to tell you that I decorated these eggs...
...and that I picked these flowers...
But I've been too busy guarding my candy.
There are lots of things you can do in the Smokies.
Here I am, pondering a hike. It is 2,179.1 miles long. Maybe next time.
I like ROCK-SITTING. I could do that for hours!
But give me a cabin deck and some early morning sun!
And some Azaleas, dripping with morning dew...
And I'm content for days!
Good-bye Smokies. I'm off to Texas!
Don't go to North Carolina in the spring!
I'm safe in the Houston area because you hardly see a tulip there! But as soon as Beth started pointing out the tulips and daffodils and dogwoods in Elon, NC...I knew I was doomed.
I do not like posing in flowers.
I was a little aggravated at first, but it was actually sort of cool sitting on a few soft petals. Pretty nice colors, too!
And this was at Elon Universtity, where you can watch the students walking by.
Off to class!
I wouldn't mind grabbing a backpack and following some of these students to class!
Flowers are okay, but I prefer a good hike at Hanging Rock State Park!
Hanging out at Hanging Rock
The view is a little better, too! I love North Carolina!
My mom gave me this tiny bear over 25 years ago... because I like small things.
