A Beach in Aruba

Yellow Chair!

Picture

I love yellow, so this is the chair I picked! It was a little drippy, since there had been rain the night before. But no complaints from me.
Picture

I perched myself on the back of this chair, facing the east.  I kept waiting for the sun to appear. But it was cloudy.
Picture
I gave up and turned around to watch the ocean.  I couldn't see the beautiful turquoise of the water since it was hazy. But I'm not complaining!
Picture
I will take a cloudy & uncrowded morning at the beach over sunny & crowded, any day!

Aruba and The Windmill

Watching the Mill

Picture
Most people think of beaches and palm trees when they think of Aruba.   In this photo I'm in a palm tree, but I'm not looking at the beach.
Picture

I climbed up the palm tree to have a look at this windmill!  That's something I never expected to see on a trip to Aruba. But Aruba is owned by the Dutch, you know.
Picture
Now you can see it a little better... but I'm blurred. Beth really needs to learn how to use her camera or improve her Photoshop skills!

There!

Picture
I had to take the camera from Beth so I could just take a photo of the whole windmill.  I love that thing.  A windmill with palm trees!

Diving in Bonaire

Scuba

Picture
Most of the tourists who visit the island of Bonaire are there to dive.  Diving is the fun part, but here I am doing the work part... preparing the equipment.
Picture
Well, I didn't do a whole lot of prep.  But, look at how the wind was whipping at that dive flag.  Somebody had to hold the tank down so it wouldn't blow over.
Picture
As I did my job I watched Beth fumbling to get her wetsuit on. She was dragging all sorts of stuff over to the boat and I couldn't wait to go!

What!?

Picture
She said I'd have to stay in the camera bag.  It was too windy.  All that time I thought we were going to be scuba buddies!  That really made me mad.

Beth said she felt really bad that I couldn't go.  She said they didn't have a tank or fins or a wetsuit that would fit me.

I am never going to Bonaire again!

Hotel Pool in Curacao

Picture
When you go on an island vacation, you need to relax.  That's what I did in Curacao recently.
Picture
I relaxed and listened to the waterfall while I lounged by the pool.

Crash!

Suddenly there was a crackling crash!
Picture

This photo does not begin to show the incredible size of the palm frond that landed in the pool.  Luckily no one got hit.  Look hard and you will see me taking a ride.
Picture
Beth knows I love a little adventure, so she gave me a ride!

The Letters of Curacao

Colorful Curacao

Picture
When recently visiting the island of Curacao, I couldn't resist a little posing.
Picture

A is my favorite letter and it's right smack in the middle, when you spell out the name Curacao!

Look hard to see me.
Picture

I was very excited to pose for Beth...
Picture
... until all these people arrived and started copying me and posing all over the place.  Beth had to rescue me before someone crawled into the A.

    Little Bear

My mom gave me this tiny bear many decades ago... because  I like small things.

    Some years back, I used
him in an assignment for a photo club and I got hooked.  This little guy is a great excuse to play.  He fits in my camera bag, so he's always at the ready for a photo shoot.  He's been to a lot of places and he's had a few close calls, with fire, rivers, champagne, wild animals... the scariest of all was when he was lost in New York and returned to me weeks later.

I started the blog for Little Bear in 2012, but he got tired of my blogging style, very quickly. He has been writing his own blog for years.
