Little Bear's Adventures
Tonopah, Nevada Don and Beth made another interesting stop on their road trip, from Texas to California. They stopped at the Clown Motel in Tonopah. Beth brought along her own childhood clown to show the owner. There were hundreds of clowns in the motel lobby. A lot of people say this place is creepy and it sort of was. I'm glad she didn't pose me with the clowns, or I might have gotten lost. Beth's Clown Beth posed me with her own clown instead. I was okay with that. I wasn't sure about spending the night in our motel room, decorated with clowns... looking out over an old cemetery. Morning We woke up to snow in the morning. We made it through the night without any ghostly clown encounters. I like going on adventures with Beth and Don, but I'm not sure this was my favorite kind.

Road Trip April 2014 If you look carefully at the blurry colors behind me, you'll see some colorful poles reaching up from the watery blue. From my perch on the stone railing, I could hear the fine voice of a gondolier below. Ahhhh...I love Venice! Okay, fine. I've never been to Italy. This is the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. This will have to do for now.
Highway 50 While driving the "Most Lonely Highway in America" through Nevada, I had to stop and play in the leaves. It was very convenient that they were raking leaves in front of the capitol in Carson City. Hurry! I had to be quick playing in the leaves, because they were very quickly going into big bags. Red! I didn't want to end up in a bag of yellow leaves. I moved onto the red trees. Then What? I just climbed around. That's all. See me?
An Odd Thing The strangest thing happened the other day. The day after I posed with aspen leaves near Lake Tahoe, it started to snow! I climbed up to some good spots and just watched a while. The sun came out and I waited for it to melt. But it was too cold to melt. I started getting bored. I needed more adventure! Snowman! So I built a snowman. It was a lot of work. Okay, fine. I didn't. Some kids made it with their dad. But I climbed it and that was fun. More Adventure I needed a little more excitement, so I started looking for icicles. It's actually pretty fun sliding down icicles. It's also very wet. Window View I had to go inside to dry off, but I sat by the window.
Aspens Most people don't think of aspens when they think of Nevada. But there are some beautiful ones in Nevada near Lake Tahoe. I like the shape...almost a heart. And the color is pretty cool this time of year. Last Year Here I am in an aspen tree a year ago. My fur was a little fluffier then. Look Carefully This is me climbing a tree today. It wasn't easy. That tree was quaking. I think they got that term from earth quakes. It felt like I was in an earth quake when the wind hit those branches and the leaves were clattering up a storm. I only fell off once. A Leaf in the Sand Near the lake, there were no aspens anywhere, but I found a leaf in the sand. I buried myself down deep with the leaf so neither of us would blow away. No Trees Here Too bad there wasn't an aspen tree nearby. You can't believe how windy it was near the water. If there had been an aspen anywhere nearby, I bet you could have heard it quaking all the way in Texas!
