Little Bear's Adventures
Where Am I? I'm on an island called St. Simons and I'm pretending. I'm imagining that I am an archeologist. Except they use brushes and gloves and they don't sit on the historic stuff they dig up! A Wall Well, I wasn't really a part of an archeological dig. I was sitting on a tabby wall, of Fort Frederica, built in 1742. The tabby is a mixture of shells and dirt and not a bit comfortable. And I have a feeling you're not supposed to climb it! A Better Place So I found a better place to hang out, inside one of the cannons. A Safe and Sunny Place The sun was warm and the chilly winds were blocked. But I didn't feel all that safe against any Spanish invaders, since this cannon was clearly not in working order. Then again, that might not have been the safest place to sit, if it had been!

Archery, GA In this picture I'm on a farm just a few miles from Plains, Georgia, where President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter live today. I visited the boyhood home of our 39th president this past January and it was cold and windy. Keeping an Eye Out I was perched up high, staying away from a black cat that had been following us. There were some chickens and one goat and a work horse, out in the field. I didn't see any peanuts growing, but it was January after all. Little White House As you can see, I was sitting in the moon shaped window of the family outhouse. The Carters had no indoor plumbing when they moved here in 1928. I don't think this is the original outhouse or that would be kind of weird to pose here. Mostly, I had a nice view of Mr. Carter's sweet little white house, where he grew up! When he was just a little kid, I'll bet he never knew he'd be living in the big White House one day!
