Little Bear's Adventures
Road Trip April 2014 If you look carefully at the blurry colors behind me, you'll see some colorful poles reaching up from the watery blue. From my perch on the stone railing, I could hear the fine voice of a gondolier below. Ahhhh...I love Venice! Okay, fine. I've never been to Italy. This is the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. This will have to do for now.

Bird of Paradise I love being in tropical places, with colorful plants and animals. Here I am combining my love of plants and animals, by sitting on a bird of paradise plant! The Bird's Head I guess I'm sitting in the orange feathers, that are on top of this funny bird's head. Where? I'm on a plant in front of the Del Coronado Hotel! I'd rather climb the roof. This wonderful old hotel on Coronado Island in San Diego, is my favorite. I got to sit in my favorite plant and stare at my favorite roof of all time.
I like watching the people go by, too. They don't notice me. If only it were 56 years ago, then maybe I would see Marilyn Monroe or Jack Lemmon or Tony Curtis walk by... between shoots of "Some Like it Hot". Now I'm going to have to watch that movie! Winslow, Arizona We spent the night in Winslow. I could have posed, standing on the corner in Winslow, Arizona and such a fine sight to see... But I decided I would study some chess moves instead. This old Harvey House Hotel in Winslow has tons of books and games for studious guests.
Since I couldn't find anyone who wanted to play chess... I just climbed on the pieces! First Time Ever! I told Beth I wanted to go for a roll, all the way down the alley. She was game. After all, this is such an old bowling alley, they have actual pinsetters who set the pins into position. So 12-year old Kevin was waiting at the end of the alley and he could have helped me out. Changing Balls But I kept changing my mind. I decided I wanted a pink ball. And then I wanted a heavier ball. Then I worried that I would slip down into the hole and never come out. This picture shows just how far I made it down the alley.
I kept score instead. |
