Little Bear's Adventure's
Here's a picture of me, back in Texas. On the last night of our road trip, I got to stay overnight in building right beside some railroad tracks. The building was once a Harvey House, which is very, very cool.
I would explain what a Harvey House is, but I am too tired from being out of town for 3 weeks. If I were bigger... much bigger, I could wear this colorful pin.
I would rather tell you about my new friend, Kaitlynn. She also got to sleep in the building near the tracks. She's very lucky because she gets to come here all the time. Her grandmother works at the Harvey House. If you look very carefully, you can see me on the wagon.
A Harvey Girl?
Is Kaitlynn a Harvey Girl? No. The Harvey Girls used to work in this building, though. They served delicious meals to the train travelers. Kaitlynn's grandmother isn't a Harvey Girl, either. The Harvey Girls worked here long ago.
If I Could Stay...
We had to rush off after we took pictures. If only we could have stayed one more night. Kaitlynn and I could have roller-skated in the basement. I heard the Slaton Harvey Girls used to do that.
I'll bring my skates next time.
My mom gave me this tiny bear over 25 years ago... because I like small things.
