Little Bear's Adventures
Back in the Saddle... in Fort Worth, Texas When visiting the Ft. Worth Stockyards, I did what lots of tourists do. I sat on a Texas Longhorn. The saddle was a little large for me. You can see me if you look hard. The young woman didn't charge me 5 dollars like she charged the other tourists. She didn't make me sign a disclaimer, either. When Beth asked if she could pose me a little closer to the horns, she kind of acted like she gets that question all the time. But 5-dollar tourists never get to sit on the Longhorn's head. And this is why. That Longhorn thought I was an annoying bee and tried to toss me off. In this photo, I'm holding onto the fur like a bull rider. But I lost my grip and flew up into the air. Luckily the young cowgirl (with good reflexes) caught me in her palm, just before I landed in a bucket... of something... I'm not sure what. Second Ride! That was so fun, I wanted to try another Longhorn. This one had reddish-brown fur and seemed very calm. I sat proudly on that tuft of fur and the sweet Longhorn didn't seem to mind. I would have waved to the tourists who laughed when they walked by, but I was holding onto some hair... just in case.
