#20 Lunch in the Ruins

I love this serious looking photo of windblown picnickers, sitting on top of the flat rock... and also tucked into a tiny space below. I was eleven in 1969, when my family lived in Italy and Dad was a teacher with an FSU study program.

  I was in awe of these college students who were as cool as the music they listened to...Aquarius, Hey Jude...  I was never as confident as my sister Jenni, who at 14 joined the students for lunch (top right) on the rock.  My 16 year old brother Chris isn't pictured, because he was the one with the camera.  My younger brother David and I were already finished with our box lunches.  We were off climbing the ruins in search of treasures from the past... and wild flowers, as I recall.  ​
