#147 - Wild Cat Bridge Oregon
Lane County Oregon
Don and I packed sandwiches in the car, when we traveled last summer.
We had planned to eat while driving, but then we stumbled across the Wild Cat Bridge!
It's not everyday that you just happen to spot a covered bridge, from 1925! We pulled over and had our sandwiches on the bridge, above the creek!
Last June, Don and I spent a few days in Springfield, Missouri. One warm afternoon, we took sandwiches to Fassnight Park. This is a park I remember from childhood.I love a little nostalgia, in the summer.
We chatted a little, with the couple at the other table. That felt odd and wonderful, after over a year of pandemic caution. Like us, the other couple were on a road trip. We swapped a few stories about the woes of pandemic travel. It was a nice and curious encounter.
Mom's Picnic List
In honor of my mother on the first Mother's Day since she has passed, I dedicate a new list... Mom's Picnic List!
Mom loved picnics and she raised her kids to appreciate the simple pleasures of food, family and friends in the great out of doors.
I will spend a year reflecting on as many past picnics as I can remember. But, I'll also
appreciate the here and now by creating new picnic experiences. My goal is to share at least 60 picnic memories, since that's how many years Mom was a mom!
Let the picnics begin!
