Day 58 - Drive-In Movies

This image of a screen and 2 cars, brings back childhood memories.  It's a lot harder to have the drive-in experience today, but there are at least some around. This funny set up, was at an Air Stream trailer campground in Utah.  The movie was complimentary to campers, but you could pay a fee and sit in a retro car.  Don and I chose the red car and watched City Slickers.  The top was down, so the starry sky competed with the movie!

Theaters I remember:  Tulsa, OK where my kids wore p.j.s and we watched Disney movies while cows mooed nearby... Tallahassee, FL when I was 14 and we watched Ben Hur, then waltzed on the grass during intermission while corny music played. . Traverse City, MI with my sister and we squeezed some friends in the trunk... St. Louis, MO when I was 18 and my Mom was my date and the teen boys in the next car flirted with her, not me!

How can I not remember the Traverse City drive-in? Was that when we were staying at Ranch Rudolf?
And I love the teens flirting with Mom and the drive-in!

Yes, Mom got more dates than me in the mid 70's. While I put on the "Freshman 15" in college, she sported a darling figure. Haa! I was reminded of the Traverse City movie, when Stepford Wives came on TV the other night. That's what we saw, I believe!

    Happy List

I started this blog, by thinking about the things that make me laugh and smile. My "Photo a Day" posting began on May 27, 2016.  I had just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and I found I could keep things positive, by sharing some of my favorite photographs. After 7 months, I stopped the daily habit and aimed for monthly posts.

Now, at the end of each month, I look back at all the things I enjoyed in the weeks before. I share some photos, along with a few words. It's a good reminder to myself, to feel grateful every day.
