Me and The Flag
I know there are a lot of flag rules.
I'm hoping I didn't break a rule when I climbed to the top of the flag to enjoy the breeze for a while.
I found a smaller flag and practiced some marching, to Sousa's The Stars and Stripes Forever.
Have you ever tried marching in grass that is nearly up to your shoulder? Somebody around here needs to mow the lawn... I'm just sayin'.
My Friend Sam
I spent some time with my good old friend, Sam. I like hanging out on his shoulder. We just watch the world a little bit. Sometimes we talk.
Sam is over 100 years old.
I have to be careful not to tear his felt jacket or bang into his china face. He's a little hard of hearing, but I'm right next to his ear so that works out. I don't have to yell. I just whisper, so the rest of the world doesn't know what we're talking about.
Sometimes I ask Sam personal questions like, "Can I call you uncle?" or "Where's your beard, anyway?"
My mom gave me this tiny bear over 25 years ago... because I like small things.
