Little Bear's Adventures

Grapes of Course In August, Beth and Don visited their friends who have a vineyard. I knew Beth would be giddy about posing me in the grapes! But as we wandered the property, we found something else that was shaped like a grape. Olives don't grow on vines. I loved climbing this olive tree and hiding in the shadows. Then we found some other colorful things growing. Raspberries! Apples! Red and yellow! The smell of the citrus fruits tickled my nose. From yellow, I moved to orange! This bumpy-orange gourd made me laugh! I crawled all over it! Then I spotted something less colorful. It was a hole in a tree. My tiny heart was beating when Beth balanced me on the edge. What if I fell backwards?
Beth swiped me safely and tucked me into her bag. Whew! That was exciting!

More Fun at the Playground Our motel in Nevada had a little playground. After playing on the tetherball, I noticed a row of silver horse swings! The seat was too far away from the horse. I asked Beth to put me on the horse's head. Then I noticed another horse, all alone. He wasn't a swing. He was attached to a big coil-y spring! The saddle seemed too far away from the horse's head. Beth put me on the handle, right beneath the horse's ear. I wasn't heavy enough to make him bounce, so I just talked to him. "I like your silver paint."
First Time! I've sat on flowers and rocks, turtles and cats... I've never sat on a ball. Tetherball But this is a tetherball and they hang down on ropes. So I was able to balance. There was a soft knot right behind my head. I'm so glad no one decided to smack that tetherball. Because that's what you do to play the game. Quiet Motel in Nevada But our little playground at Scott Shady Court Motel, was very quiet. I got to sit there and enjoy the sun and breeze as long as I liked!
Where? Last summer we stayed in a old mansion in Pueblo, Colorado. We were allowed to explore, so I climbed all over anything that was metal! Luckily this old radiator wasn't hot! This fancy metal handle was near something else that might have been hot. I liked the dogs right behind me! I liked the playful lady with the ball, right below me. The fire screen's metal handle wasn't hot. But if there'd been a fire roaring behind me, I might have been toasty. Metal on the Mantle While sitting on the fire-screen handle, I looked way above my head. I could not resist, riding on this little metal dog! Outside Later we stepped outside and explored. I looked up at the Orman Mansion. I spotted some metal poles and pipes! I was eager to climb.
Beth said no. |
