I Love Umbrellas Around the age of 6, I loved walking with umbrellas... playing with them and even drawing them. Maybe it was the Morton Salt Girl that inspired me. Rainy Days in Houston We've been having a rainy week. This morning instead of going for a run, I grabbed an umbrella and headed for Pecan Park. The rain had stopped by the time I got there, but I walked with my umbrella anyway. That would have made total sense to me, at age 6. Puddles I thought I would be alone in the park on a rainy day. But, many dog walkers suddenly appeared and probably thought I was nuts when they spotted me wading through puddles. But I just hid under my umbrella and felt very brave. A Worm I'm pretty glad I spotted no mud, or I might have been tempted to make pies. However I did pause to help a worm, struggling in a sidewalk puddle. By the time I got home, my legs were splattered with wet grass and dotted with a few mosquito bites. Sometimes you have to pay, for 6-year-old-celebration!

I really love this blog- and I hate EVERYTHING! It's really good. And it has a comfort to it. Did you really draw those pics as a kid and you still have them?

Thanks, Martha! You helped me with my 6-year-old celebrations, so you can't be too much of a hater! :D
